We started out early in Disneyland riding Peter Pan's ride, Tea Cups again, the Storybook ride etc. Mr Toad's Wild Ride and Space Mountain were both closed due to technical difficulties :( but we had fun anyway. Then we went over to CA Adventure and spent the majority of our day there. Kaileigh and I rode on the California Screamin'--- TWICE! She LOVED it! It was her first outdoor roller coaster and she went upside down on the round about laughing the whole way! Super fun! Then she and mom went on the 4D Toy Story ride
which they said was really fun (it also had a really long line!) The highlight of our day today was Ariel's Grotto...we dined on "fishy" foods and took pictures with Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Snow White & Sleeping Beauty. The food was good and it was fun to get more pictures, but I have to be honest, they didn't stay near as long as we thought or spend as much time at the table as we thought.
We kind of felt like it was rushed and Kai got more time with the princesses by waiting in line at the Faire inside Disneyland. Oh well-- it was a way to guarantee we met them anyway. Since it was Mom's birthday we did lots of celebrating and lots of "Happy Birthday Deb" from guests and cast members all through out the day.
One of mom's highlights was inside the interactive "Talking with Crush" feature. Kaileigh was selected first by Crush and he talked to her about where she was from etc. Then he asked why she was here and she said it was her Grammy's birthday so then Grammy got to talk with Crush--- it was really funny and I wish I had been videotaping! :)
We spent the end of our evening purchasing our souveniers which I think we wish we'd been picking up along the way and sending back to our room! :) Then we purchased our photo CD of all the pictures the photographers took of us throughout our 4 days and went out to meet some of my friends from when we lived in CA.
Shelby and her girls (Brooke, Lauren, Allison and Kaitlyn who we got to meet) met us for candy and ice cream in downtown Disney. The last time we saw them Kai was about 18 months old and it was right before we left for Colorado. What a fun time to catch up and see how much all of the girls have grown!!
On our way back to our room, we ran into some friends we'd met at the hot tub, Hunter & Lucy and their Grandma Gretchen. We watched some Goofy cartoons with them before heading back up to our room. The kids have decided being email penpals will be fun! :)
For our last hours in Anaheim, we're going to have breakfast with Goofy, visit the stores in Down Town Disney (we've been avoiding Build a Bear all week!) Then we'll head off to the airport where we leave the magic behind and reality will start setting back in.....
It was a nice escape into the world of magic and we really got to experience all that Disney has to offer (from a 6 year old's perspective!)
Thank you Disney for such an amazing time!!
