We are having a BLAST! Day 2 (Sunday) was awesome!-- ok, what day hasn't been? We started out by taking the monorail into Tomorrowland and riding Nemo's Underwater Submarine ride which had extremely long lines all day Saturday. When we came off that ride we were just in time for the Jedi Training Academy to start! They selected young Padawa's from the audience if they showed good energy and participation-- of course-- Kai was selected! :)
She was trained to fight in preparation for Darth Vadar who then appeared with Darth Mal! She did a great job. Darth Vadar said as she walked up "***breathe*** the force is strong with this one". She was very proud and knew that her dad, Kelly & Uncle T would also be very proud of her light saber skills!
After a ride on Space Mountain, which happened to be her first major roller coaster and she LOVED it!, we did a few more things and then headed over to Main Street. It was about time for lunch so we grabbed some and sat down. Kai had only taken a few bites when Alice appeared followed by the Mad Hatter, a piano man and shortly after, Peter Pan as well! They wanted to play musical chairs with the kids! So Kai spent time doing that and the highlight was when Kaileigh, following the Mad hatter's requests, was dancing so silly around the chairs that she missed.
Peter Pan decided if she could tell a funny joke to the crowd that had gathered, she could earn another round. Kaileigh told her much loved "Knock knock, interrupting cow" joke! I caught it on video and will add it once we're home but it was a huge hit and had the whole crowd laughing. The 2nd time, she actually DID get a chair but gave it to a little girl which they thought was so sweet, they gave her another chance for a joke. Kai pulled out her octopus joke, which actually was my favorite as a kid and I had taught her. Again she earned another round but she was then out again-- lol. She had a great time! Lots of time with Alice and she called her a Dolly... Peter was hilarious-- very silly and goofy and fun to watch :)
This took about an hour so our quick lunch turned into quite an ordeal-- but who can pass up that kind of fun!
As soon as we left lunch, we were heading out of Disneyland and over towards CA Adventure. Kaileigh was carrying her new Dalmation Lucky around and who did we see in the street??! Cruella Devil! She ran right up to her and wanted to say hi. Cruella started this whole dialogue with her right in the street about how come she couldn't have that puppy and how on earth could you have a stuffed puppy!?
They ended up making some deal about Kaileigh getting her one of her own the next time she's in the store (which we heard about all day on Monday!) Anyway- it was funny- she was pretty rude and entertaining of course-- Kaileigh is really enjoying interacting and since many of the characters don't talk, running into the ones that do is even more fun.
In California Adventure we ran into Minnie
again, just missed Stitch, met Pluto, watched the Playhouse Disney Show and then the Pixar Parade. By then our cameras were completely dead so we headed back to the room. After resting our feet, we headed back into Disneyland and rode some more rides. By the end we were completely exhausted!
On one of the channels here they have a bedtime story by a princess. Kai has really enjoys watching these every night and the second her head was on her pillow--- she was out! :)
On to another day!
