DISNEYLAND!!

So here I am, at 3:30am just like a child...except my actual CHILD is still asleep! In just 2 hours I SHOULD be getting up to get ready to head to the airport...but I have a head start of course! In the morning Kai & I head to Anaheim with my mom to enjoy 5 blissful days in the Happiest Place on Earth!! We will be princesses, pirates, toys and whatever else our imagination lets us! I can't wait!!

After two weeks of intense wedding planning (there is a lot of pressure to have things decided VERY quickly!!), work stress and the other things that come along with daily life (like getting a ticket, not having my insurance ready in time so getting a court date on top of it and then losing my license all within a 4 hour period!! gheesh.....) it's going to feel great to be in 70 degree weather and kissing Mickey on the nose!

I can't wait to post pictures and plan to get online while we're there.... for now, this is how it all started.......

During my visit in October my mom and I talked about desiring to take an all girls vacation somewhere. Since her visits to Colorado require a hotel stay (she's allergic to dogs and Willie is ALL OVER this house!) we talked about how that really opens up WHERE we visit with eachother. We explored some options and since Disney is a place WE both love, and Kai is at the perfect age now, that's where we decided on. They made it even easier to decide with the "Visit us free on your birthday promotion" (although we are disappointed Mickey shaped balloons are not coming down following us around!!!) b/c Kai is off-track during my Mom's birthday! Score one! Then we get connected with a recommended agency who helps us set up all these other perks along the way!! Whoo hoo and the fun begins! The hard part then was being quiet! We couldn't imagine telling Kai too soon about this and having to hear "when am I going to Disney...how long until I go to Disney..." for months :) So we decided to surprise her for her birthday!

Part of our package was a free character call, so we scheduled Mickey & Minne to call her on her birthday during dinner. When they called, they told her how excited they were to hear she was coming to visit them! At first I didn't think it was processsing, but near the end she started silently clapping her hands with a big grin on her face, still listening intently. When they hung up, I asked her if she understood what they were saying and she goes "I'm GOING TO DISNEY!!!" So great!

Since the Little Mermaid is her favorite princess, her presents then revolved around that- backpack, costume, princess jewelery... we are READY TO GO!

So...as Kelly & Kaileigh sleep, coming off their birthday week highs, I think I'm going to work on my wedding website and plans just a little bit more before we head off for Disneyland Mania! :)

TTFN!
