...of Kindergarten that is for Kaileigh... She recently spent a week with her dad and coming back to my house last night I was able to see what her teacher was talking about after 3 wks off track from school. I swear she is taller again, her teeth have moved....she just changes all the time. It's not quite the same as when she was a newborn and you could almost see daily changes, but wow! I can't wait to compare the beginning of the school year height and weight to the end.
It seems like this big, milestone of a school year, has just FLOWN by! Yet, what I have now is a girl who is up in her room, writing a song on her keyboard-- playing, making up lyrics, then stopping to write it in her notebook!- and then I'm sure she'll perform it later for me. She writes stories about everything, logs her life in her journal and is even more imaginitive than she was before!
I'm just taken back sometimes, how this little girl who used to have chubby cheeks and legs, had turned into this beautiful long, lean 6 year old. And then, looking ahead (I left home for college when my sister was 5) to graduation, like Emily is about to do and I can't help but wonder how much this bubbly, creative personality may/may not change over the next years of Elementary, Middle & HS.... *sniff sniff*-- makes you realize you have to cherish and LIVE in each moment! You don't get them back, they're all wonderful, but I don't want to let ANY pass me by!!
