I Love Being a Mom!

I love Mother's Day!

Each year Kelly and Kaileigh make it so special! She has this Berenstein Bears book about making breakfast in bed for mama so she likes to start it off with that. Then they always have some sort of "Secret surprise" for me-- this year it's something she made. Then we spend the whole day together just doing whatever I want.

And THIS year-- it really started yesterday! I finally figured out the whole car thing, so Kaileigh and I took advantage of the big back to the Honda Pilot I got and headed off to stock up on garden supplies at Walmart (Where as Kai reminds me from commercials, their prices are actually lower than Target...lol). After a morning of soccer, we spent the afternoon weeding, potting and remulching the front. Beautiful!

After a delicious homemade spaghetti dinner by Kelly (one of my favorites of all time!) Kai and I both retreated upstairs for relaxing baths in our respective bathrooms. Mine could only start after she gave me the proper instructions of how to really lay back and relax....ahhhhhh.....!

They ended the night surprising me with a Coldstone Creamery cake she picked out that day! Yummy~ it's really the "birthday cake remix" but for this occasion we called it "mother's day remix". ET happened to be on, but since it was already getting late, we found a later time so we could DVR it and now she wants to watch that great classic later on today!

Right now, I'm "Sleeping" while they make me breakfast downstairs.... so cute!

The weather, although surprising us yesterday by being sunny and warm, is not cooperating today. So instead of our family hike with the dogs in the afternoon, we're going to head over to the Nature & Science Museum for the new "Expedition Health" exhibit. It should be REALLY neat! We'll have plenty of opportunities for hiking and camping coming up the next few months!

I just love how special she wants me to feel....and Kelly too-- he really steps up on this holiday even though he doesn't technically have kids-- he does know how to spoil me! And with added tips from Kaileigh, it's always a GREAT day!

There's a country song in my head (I'll have to find later who sings it) but "these are some good times, take a good look around, you're gonna wish these days, hadn't gone by so fast...." So true!

Happy Mother's Day to all my loving Mama Friends! I hope your day is special too!!
