Well, I've been "behind" on some things lately- my mind is just all over the place! But Emily (my 18 yr old sister) was just out visiting for 2 weeks and how fun to have her here! Although it totally changed my routine and made me not want to be at work-- we had a great time! We went up into the mountains, she took the dogs for walks (totally helpful!) She and Kai went to the pool, drew with chalk, worked on learning to ride her bike, made crafty gifts for me for my brithday and then all of us made custom burp cloths for Janine & Thomas and little Nathanael who is on the way in November...we had a great time!
It's fun to see the difference in Emily from when I left home (she was age 5) and now at 18 ready to start college. She'll be going to Mary-Hardin Baylor studying Music Education... side note** my SIL is a Kindergarten Teacher, my brother is going to school for Geography Education-- they're all going to have summers off but me!! Time to change careers???...* anyway, we had a great time. She is boy crazy and goofy and although we do have different personalities, she reminds me of my less serious, more youthful days :) But the TEXTING-- how do they keep their fingers attached to their hands and fly accross the keys like that? And it's ALL DAY LONG!?! Who has the time or enough words?? Whoa.

She was able to help me with my 30th birthday party, attend my bridal shower, get some things ready for the wedding etc. It was just nice hanging out...we watched movies, went for walks-- she got waxed for the first time...lol...I can't even blog about that; it's just inappropriate-- but man was that FUNNY! I love the time just "being" and since we really haven't lived the majority of our lives together it's neat to just have her here...just being, doing...living (and texting!)

Here are some pics from our time together :) Enjoy...and Emily- thanks for spending 2 weeks of your summer here!! I know we were busy but I hope you had fun!
