Highlands Ranch Hometown Holiday

Kai and I were able to attend the Highlands Ranch Hometown Holiday again this year. We went two years ago and although it's cold, we had a great time. Everything is free, there is the lighting of the tree, carolers and performers, booths of local vendors giving away goodies, a train ride, carriage ride, real reindeer and of course! Santa!!

We brought her friend Jaden along this year and met up with Lisa & Jesse as well. They had already seen Santa so they left before us, but we met up with them later to make home made ornaments at their house.

Our house is decorated, our lights are up, the festivities have begun, we've shopped for our Angel Tree, Adopt a Family & Operation Christmas Children, and are just revelling in this time of year! We still have baking to do, presents to wrap, but we enjoyed opening up each ornament and discussing any story that may go along with it. Then we sit and enjoy the beautiful lights with warm apple cider or hot chocolate, cuddled up on the couch with blankets and the dogs!

Of course Kaileigh loves Santa, but I think one of her favorite parts is seeing the reindeer! She asked the handler how come they weren't flying and she told Kaileigh, Santa's magic is what makes them fly on Christmas Eve. Good enough for Kaileigh. tee hee. They have very fuzzy antlers and were cute to observe.

This year, Kaileigh asked Santa for a Barbie house & a boxer puppy. She had her letter written and her list made over a month ago so she was very prepared when it was her turn! He is such a jolly old fellow, engaging and exciting! We were both thrilled to see him and get our annual picture :) I hope like me, Kai never stops believing and being excited ;)

A Merry Christmas to you & yours!
