Hello 1st Grade

What an exciting week for Kaileigh! Yesterday right after lunch she got to meet her new 1st Grade teacher, Mrs. Johnson. She seemed very nice and although Kai was acting a little nervous, I know she is excited! Full day, she's "bigger" now in school, ready to get back and see her friends-- AND-- she LOVES learning!

Then, last night around 6:20pm her baby brother Xander was born to Jay & Laura. Maiyah (19 months) and Kaileigh (6 1/2) are both excited big sisters! She came home just gushing over how cute he is and how she got to hold him twice-- she really is a great help to them!

Today we got up, got ready- she had her lunch packed, back-pack packed and outfit picked out all on her own last night for her first day. She ate a nice breakfast and we headed off to school. I remember that feeling of the first day when I was young-- getting out of the house, seeing my friends, new paper, new folders, new pencils etc. How fun! There were big hugs to friends she hasn't seen in 5 weeks (that is a very long time when you are 6!)

I'm at work now thinking-- wow- I have a 1st Grader! I hope she is having a great day and remembered to save her granola bar for snack-- not lunch! :) I love you Kaileigh!!
