Mmm, Mmm, Pumpkin Pie!

We were crafty girls who spent fun times with friends and eachother this weekend! Lots of scrapbooking, reading, playing dolls, a sleepover....

But today, we messed up the whole kitchen making this beautiful pie! :) Kai's been wanting to make pumpkin pie for weeks and this afternoon just seemed like the right day to do it. We got out her bake set with her very own pie pan, baking sheet, rolling pin & apron (which is extremely cheap, ripped a pocket within 10 minutes and lead to tears). She helped me measure everything, I taught her how to use the mixer, how to make our own dough and then how to pinch the sides of the dough into the pan before pouring our pumpkin in. And MMmmmm did this come out great!! :)

I often miss those baby cuddling days, but I am so proud of who she has become! I love doing things like this with her and have tried to make an effort to plan more time in the kitchen like this. Next we'll have to bake some cookies and since we're hosting Thanksgiving here, she can help me prepare for that too.
